Thank you for the question on evidences of the Exodus in the Sinai Peninsula, “Why have archaeologists failed in finding a shred of evidence about the Exodus in Sinai Peninsula? Should they look somewhere else or the event never happened?”
Let us presume that the Exodus is true, what evidences does one expect to find in the Sinai Peninsula?
A. The Israelites did not build any settlement. There aren’t any buildings to excavate by the archaeologist.
B. The Israelites were nomad in the Sinai Desert. They lived in tents and took the tents with them wherever they traveled. There are little if any cloths that would have survived.
C. The Israelites ate manna and some of their animals. There were very little remains of the stay at a particular site. The feces and urine would have dissolved or disintegrated in the hot sands. There is nothing to screen by the archaeologist.
D. The Israelites bodies fell in the desert over the 40 years in the Sinai Desert. There were no mass graves to dig up as the dead bodies were buried in the sand which would have deteriorated over time.
E. The Israelites trail would have been buried with the shifting sands. It is note that the 1970 war with Egypt was recently uncovered under 40 ft of sands. How deep if any of the artifacts would be discovered for 4000 years or more.
F. The Israelites didn’t encounter any opposing army except for the Egyptian army until they entered near the Promised Land. There are no artifacts of opposing army or other people group in the Sinai
G. Isn’t it amazing that in all the archaeological digging that one would think that would be some findings in the last 3000 years as caravans would be crossing it even if it is not antiquity. No evidence of anything since the time of Christ would be astonishing to think that it was a pristine desert with no one ever lost anything or traveled on it like camel bones or jewelry. No one would conclude that no one walked across the Sinai Desert as a caravan since no caravan artifacts are found.
SUMMARY: The Israelites left hardly any artifacts to be discovered by archaeologist.
