Thank you for the question on President Trump, “Do you think President Trump can quote or even paraphrase two scriptures from the Bible?”

Absolutely for even agnostics and atheists can cite more than two verses from the Bible.

As I have read some of the respondents, the choice by Christians is both a moral and personality one. If there were two agnostics, two atheists or one agnostic and atheistic running for President, Christians would still have to choose between the two candidates based on the candidate’s beliefs and positions as well as the party platform.

There are liberal and conservative Christians, spiritual and carnal Christians, ignorant and knowledgeable Christians, etc. To badger President Trump for his moral failures before and after his presidency, one ought to be careful lest the standard one uses to judge him becomes the standard to judge oneself. Jesus said that if anyone lust after another person that person has already committed immorality/adultery in his/her own heart. With all that we see on cable or on the movies, many if not most individuals would struggle with those thoughts in one’s heart and mind. Has he been a faithful husband while in office? I hope so. Is he the perfect model Christian? Not likely but who is perfect. This is not to excuse his conduct, his tweeting. I wished that he was more like Vice President Pence. God will hold President Trump accountable for his past, present, and future actions just as God will do so for everyone else. Is he really a Christian? I am personally unsure, but certainly he is able to paraphrase two verses of the Bible as most American can even if they don’t believe the Bible is true. Since we are living in a post-modern period, more and more Americans know less and less of the Bible and more and more about science. Separation of Church and State, removing of religious symbols or the advocating of it makes our culture the “cancel culture” which in my opinion will lead to the suppression or even the persecution of Christians as extremists. One day the “cancel culture” movement itself will be cancelled by another group as either not radical enough or irrelevant to our society. It’s not BLM first for that will eventually be seen as prejudice as one moves into a socialism culture. It will be a new culture based on science and not on human rights. It may well be like the old book, “Brave New World.”

Yes, there may come a day when the Bible is confiscated and any teaching of the Bible is seen as subversive to the government. One day it may be true that hardly anyone will know that there was a Bible as it is no longer online or in the libraries It’s a banned book for it is non-scientific. It’s not President Trump who may not be able to paraphrase two Bible verses, but it may be all of the United States and the world. All or most religious citations will be erased as one moves more and more to a paperless society. That’s just my opinion.
