Thank you for the question on unanswered prayers to God, “Why won’t God answer my prayers but he answers other people’s prayers?”
Here are some thoughts for your consideration why God may not answer your prayer:
A. God looks at the heart, the motivation of one’s request. Thus one must be honest in one’s motivation before God.
B. God looks at the result of the request. God considers how does answering that prayer affect others. It’s not just about you.
C. God looks at the timing of the request. God knows when is the best time to grant one’s request. It may be a test of perseverance of prayer or testing of one’s faith.
D. God looks at the impacts on one’s life. God knows what is best for us even though we think we know what is best for us. Thus God may say, “No” because it is harmful or bad for you. It will ruin your life, not make your life better.
E. God looks at your relationship with him. Is God your Heavenly Father or is he a Santa Claus to you? What is the reason why God should listen to your prayer requests? Who are you to him?
F. God looks at his relationship with you. Does God see you as one of his child or a stranger? If you are a child of God, he is more incline to listen and grant your request than deny it.
Read James 1 and John 14 for God’s answer to fulfilling prayer request.
SUMMARY: God has a reason for a delay in granting one’s request. It may not be obvious to us, but it is crystal clear to him.
