Question: Does the Bible have any positive reinforcement for humans?

Thank you for the biblical question, “Does the Bible have any positive reinforcement for humans?” For one’s consideration, I cite three positive reinforcements for mankind from the Book of Genesis.

A. The positive reinforcement for mankind is that God commanded Noah and his children to fill the earth again.

Genesis 9:1 says this, “Then God blessed Noah and his sons saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth” (NIV). The biblical citations are from the NIV.

Since the days of Noah, mankind has been populating the earth whereby the world population is over 8 billion people. The decrease in population is due to man’s selfishness for materialism and fame. He is not following the command to love his neighbor as himself.

B. The positive reinforcement for mankind is that God will not destroy the earth with water again.

Genesis 9:11says this, “I establish my covenant with you. Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”

There have been local floods on the earth. At times, the local floods have been caused by man in his abusing of the natural resources of earth. Man was created to care for the earth, not to devastate the earth for its natural minerals just to accumulate wealth.

C. The third positive reinforcement for mankind is that God will bless mankind through the descendant of Abraham.

Genesis 12 says this, “…and all people on earth will be blessed through you.”

God does not state at this point who or what will bless the earth except that it is through Abraham. One of Abraham’s descendants will be blessing the people of earth. I believe the descendant is Jesus Christ who came as the Lamb of God to pave the way for mankind to be reconciled to God. It is through the God-Man, Jesus Christ that he will restore the earth and remove the selfishness and sinfulness of mankind upon the earth and upon the people.

There are other positive reinforcements for mankind and one can read or discover more of them. God loves his created world and its people.

SUMMARY: God will restore earth and offers reconciliation to mankind. There is a second chance for man if s/he accepts God’s offer of forgiveness.
