Thank you for the question on the canonization of the General Epistles, “Was Peter, Jude, James and Hebrews canonized later because they needed to be translated from Hebrew?”
Since textual critics do not have the original autographs (original letter), we can’t say with absolute certainty that the General Epistles were written in Hebrew. It is more like that the authors wrote either in Greek or Aramaic since Aramaic was the spoken language.
The reason why some of the New Testament epistles were questions was due to its apostolic authority or questioning of its content.
There were Church leaders who questioned I-II Peter whether it was truly written by the Apostle Peter. Hebrew, Jude and James were questioned due to its apostolic authority with James also being questioned about faith and works. Some even question I-III John for its value of its context, especially II and III John.
Summary: The issue is not the translation of “Hebrew” into Greek, but more so of their apostolic authority and its context.
