Thank you for the eschatological question relating to peace with Israel, “What is the significance of this Israel peace treaty legislation, if passed, lasting five years? Is the seven-year peace treaty going to happen after this? Does this mean we have five years until the antichrist and the rapture?

The significance of the 2021 Abraham Accordance Peace Agreement is as follows:

  1. This raises the possibility of future (temporary) peace accord with other Arab nations.
  2. This raises the possibility of the United Nation to become the arbitrator of disputes between Israel and the Arab Nations.
  3. This raises the possibility of increasing recognition that both Jews and Muslims are descendants of Abraham.
  4. This raises the possibility of a settlement over the rebuilding of the Temple along side the Dome of the Rock.

The “Abraham Peace Accord” may be viewed as a precursor to the Peace Accord that the Antichrist will arranged with the Jews and the Muslims in the future. Since the Antichrist will be granted governing powers over the nations, he will be able to strike a deal with Israel and the Arabs for seven years.

As one reads Daniel 9:25–27, there is an interpretative question on who are “the many” referring to with the peace accord. Is it the Arab nations or the nations of the world? The context would imply that it would at least include the Arab nations.

Furthermore, it is to be noted that this is not an long term peace accord. The agreed upon time frame is for seven years. The Antichrist is not able to broker a permanent peace accord with the many nations. It appears there is some resistance to a long term resolution with the agreement for seven years.

Thus one can conclude that there is a person who can broker a peace accord with many (nations) that is established for seven years with the Jews and the Muslims. There is the rise of the Antichrist to power just after the rapture of the Christians with the judgments falling on earth. In our modern worldview, this catastrophic events may be interpreted as “natural” events and not events from God. As the judgments continue to fall upon earth, that viewpoint will begin to change that something extraordinary is happening that is beyond just “climate change”.

Depending on one’s view on the rapture happening before the seven years or at the end of the seven years is a theological debate. For those who live through this time period the reconstruction of the Temple in Jerusalem will signify that the biblical prophesy is true. They will see that the people of the world will worship the Antichrist as the savior of the world from its disasters.

Summary: The Abraham Peace Accord is the precursor to the Seven Year Peace Accord broker by the Antichrist between Israel and the Arab Nations. The rapture will occur either before the Seven Years begin or at the end of the Seven Years when Christ will return.
