Thank you for the question on the End Times, “Is the world coming to an end according to the Bible?”

If I may suggest that the signs of the world coming to an end would be based on the world events that sets the stage for the rise of the Antichrist. The revealing of the Antichrist will trigger the Great Tribulation on earth.

Here are some thoughts for one’s consideration of the broad events that will trigger the Great Tribulation on earth:

A. Jesus commanded his followers to be his witness to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8).

In the last 100 years or so, nearly every part of our world has been explored even though there are still unreached people groups. Wycliffe Bible Translators is actively seeking to translate the Bible into every known language in the world.

With modern technology and access to the internet, the reaching of every people group and language with the Scriptures may be possible in our generation.

B. Jesus commanded his followers to make disciples of all people group on the earth (Matt. 28:18–20).

In the last 200 years, churches have been established in all major people group and discipleship material is readily available in the internet. It is matter of finding translators who can translate the Bible and teaching material into indigenous language groups.

C. Daniel’s revelation of the fourth kingdom made with iron and clay is the last earthly kingdom before the Kingdom of God is inaugurated (Dan. 2:40–44).

The first three kingdoms of the Babylon, the Persians, and the Greeks have been fulfilled. The rise of the fourth kingdom is interpreted to be the Roman Empire including the rise of the United Nation and the European Union. It is a mix group of people who are divided but yet a power empire.

The Scriptures indicate that the Antichrist will rise and rule over the former Roman Empire which will trigger the Great Tribulation of Matthew 23 and Revelations 4–20.

D. Revelation 9 and 14 speaks of an immerse battle at Armageddon.

In our generation, the number of people on earth and the number of service members for the armies of the East and West fit the scenario for Armageddon.

E. The restoration of Jews to the Promised Land sets the stage for the rebuilding and desecration of the Temple (Revelation 11, Daniel 9:25–28).

There are Christians that believe that the Abomination of Desecration is already fulfilled while other Christians believe that a future temple will be rebuilt and be desecrated again by the Antichrist. I am of the latter opinion of a future temple being built.

There is a movement within Israel to rebuild the Temple. One can read about that on the internet. I cite this link as an example: https://israelmyglory.org/article/preparing-for-the-third-temple/

The very existence of Jews in the Promised Land lays the foundation for the possibility of rebuilding the Temple.

The events listed above are precursors to the End Times. I have not mentioned wars and rumors of wars, world currencies, digital imprinting, etc are also factors.

For those Christians who have a different view of the End Times, it is not my intention to discredit or disapprove of their viewpoints. I am stating one viewpoint and other Christians are free to express their viewpoint in response to the question.

SUMMARY: The present events of our world reflects the nearness of the Return of Christ and the beginning of the Great Tribulation.
