What is that best verse in the Bible that you reflect on daily and also meditate upon always?

Christian Living, Old Testament

Thank you for the practical question on spiritual renewal, “What is that best verse in the Bible that you reflect on daily and also meditate upon always?”

The passage that I most often meditate and ponder is Psalm 23. For me, life is difficult and at times a struggle. I have a tendency to take my eyes off the Lord and to look at my circumstances as Peter did when he looked more at the water than at the Lord. He started to sink into the sea.

At the end of the day, my wife and I recite Psalm 23 together. She had a stroke about 21 years ago for the stroke affected her speech. Through our constant repetition through the years she is able to say those words with me.

As I lay on my bed, I try to reflect on the days event and what the Lord allowed me to experience. This week I came in contact with someone with Covid. I went to a Covid test site to inquire whether I got Covid despite having my Pfizer shots. My fear is that if I tested positive my wife may well be positive as well. This would be really bad news for us since she has a compromise health issues. If something was to happen to me, who will take care of her if I am hospitalized for a prolong period or if I die. Fear began to set in my mind and heart. As I begin to think about Psalm 23, my Lord goes before me. He already knows what lies ahead and He asks me to trust in Him as I walk in uncertain days. I am thankful that the Covid test came back negative. God is good for he knows how much I can bear.

I am reminded that God didn’t promise me an easy life on earth but rather on earth I will have tribulations and my tests are like anyone else. What comforts me to know the Ever Present God is with me and goes before me. All I have to do is walk behind Him.

I am reminded of an old poem, “Footprints in the Sand.” It’s worthwhile memorizing as well for when we think that we are walking along and God is absent, let it be know that it was our Savior who carried us in those moments. It was His footprint in the sand of our life, not our own.

SUMMARY: Psalm 23 has more to say if we would truly meditate on each word of that Psalm. It will transform how we see life.
