Thank you for the question, “How do I disprove the Bible to friends?”
It baffles me to think of a person who wants to disprove the Bible to one’s friends. One may interpret that as “stabbing someone in the back.” I don’t mean literally. A true friend would do that such a thing. A friend respects another person’s not mean that one has to agree with that person’s belief. One can question or enter into a discussion with one’s friend. It is unwise to win an argument and lose a friend.
If one wants to enter into a discussion, one can discuss the following topics in an non-adversarial manner. One ought to be open to the answers which your friends give to you and your questions to them just as he ought to be open to your questions on the seemingly contradictions or problems raised by agnostics or atheists.
I have proposed answers to many of the issues raised by agnostic or atheists. I list for you some of their issues:
- The varying account between Genesis 1 and 2.
- The creation account and the astronomical age of the universe and earth.
- The biblical account of the Noah’s Flood with the lack of evidence of such a worldwide flood.
- The floating of the Ark and the gathering of the animals.
- The lack of evidence for the Exodus.
- The lack of evidence for the Temple.
- The lack of evidence for Jesus.
As a Christian, I have written responses to the above common questions. Before one dismisses, do some research on your own. Do your due diligence as if there was no world wide flood, how is there sea life on every mountain top like Mt. Everest, the Andes, the Rocky Mountains and the recent discover of an “ocean” in the crust of the earth may give some credence of the biblical description of the flooding of the earth. Read the pros and cons of the views so that one is informed. Just take your friends word on what the Scripture says, but read it for yourself carefully.
SUMMARY: A true friend seeks the truth and may question a friend’s belief, but the goal is not to destroy one’s friend’s belief. It is for that friend to make his own decision to continue to belief or question his/her belief.
