Thank you for the question of Solomon’s 666 talents of gold, “What is the significance of Solomon taking in 666 talents of gold in a year in II Chronicles 9:13?”
As one reads the broader context of II Chronicle 9:13, one reads this, “The weight of the gold that Solomon received yearly was 666 talents, 14 not including the revenues brought in by merchants and traders. Also all the kings of Arabia and the governors of the territories brought gold and silver to Solomon. 15 King Solomon made two hundred large shields of hammered gold; six hundred shekels of hammered gold went into each shield. 16 He also made three hundred small shields of hammered gold, with three hundred shekels of gold in each shield. The king put them in the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon” (A searchable online Bible in over 150 versions and 50 languages).
The 666 talents of gold that was brought to King Solomon did not include the revenues brought by merchants, traders beside all of the kings of Arabia and the governors. The context speaks of the fabulous wealth and riches of King Solomson.
There are scholars who thinks that most numbers have some spiritual significance to them. The number 666 in Revelation 13 is not to be equated with the 666 talents in II Chronicles 9:13. The setting of the two events are vastly different as the rule of the Antichrist is an ungodly one while the rule of King Solomon was most a godly one. The Antichrist number of 666 is imprinted on the peoples of the world, while the 666 talents are treasures and gifts to King Solomon from the nations of the world. Is there a particular significance to the 666? That is uncertain as some people may say that the 6 means incompletion as on the 6 day.
SUMMARY: I am not aware of any significance of King Solomon’s 666 talents of gold each year other than it reflects the enormous wealth of Solomon. That number does not have any correlation to the Antichrist number of 666 as far as I know at this point.
