Thank you for the question, “What is your biblical message of the day?”
As I have been reading through the Major Prophets, the Spirit of God impress on me on true worship and false worship. God used the word that the worshipers were trampling into his courts. They performed the require rituals but their hearts were far from God. They worship other idols and then dare step into his Temple, thinking that God doesn’t see what they have done earlier.
I wonder if followers of Jesus trampled into the presence of God as they enter the church. Our cell phones are on until the last, last minute or even turned on while the service is on to make a reservation for lunch or looking at our schedule for the week. Our bodies are present but our hearts and spirits are away from God. I wonder if Covid reveals something about ourselves and our worship of God. Do we login and we mute the sound and block the camera so we can do other things while the service is going or so that no one sees us in our pajamas, in our bedrooms, or in the kitchen cooking breakfast. Have we done any of those things in the past 4 months? How would God view our coming into His presence? What will it be like this coming Sunday? Where will your really be?
