Thank you for the question on getting right with God, “How much of my profits do I need to give away to get right with God?”
The short answer is that God does not want or need your profits or riches. One can’t buy a right relationship with God or with people since all that one has comes from him in the first place. God wants your heart and soul above all else.
If one truly wants to get right with God, one must repent of one’s thought that one can buy heaven with one’s wealth or buy fellowship with God. Wealth is a physical object. God is Spirit and he doesn’t need physical things since he created it all.
When one recognizes that God owns it all, then one sees oneself as a steward, not an owner of those possessions and gifts. Presently, one thinks that he owns his profits for one earned it. The success of one’s profit is because of God’s graciousness to that person. If one wants to honor God with one’s blessing, that is a different question.
SUMMARY: God owns it all and one can’t buy heaven or fellowship with God with material things. God looks at the heart, not at the amount of wealth that one has in life.
