Thank you for the question on the Scriptures, “Have we yet reach any point where humanity has proven the Bible wrong in some way, shape, or form, or have we found anything that’s altered the way we view the Bible now?”
The question is basically asking is there anything to disprove the Scripture. The answer to that question will depend on one’s perspective on the Bible whether one wants to affirm the Bible or disprove the Bible.
A. If one wants to disprove the Bible, one can cite copying errors of the Scriptures.
However, would a person reject a personal letter or text message sent to him/her because it had a spelling error in it?
We have the ability to correct our misspellings but when the scrolls were written there wasn’t that mean. If we were to copy the Book of Exodus on sheets of paper with pen without any corrections, how many mistakes will one find at the end of one’s copying of it? Will it be a perfect copy or will one be able to understand the text of which one copied?
The comparison of the parchments and manuscripts allows textual criticism to debate those variety of errors for misspelling to inclusion of an article or word.
2. If one wants to disprove the Bible, one can argue against a literal interpretation of the Scriptures.
One can argue based on scientific facts that miracles are impossible. One can’t multiply bread or walk on water. Since it is scientific impossible, then the literal interpretation can’t be true. The alternative is an allegorical interpretation, spiritual interpretation, or falsify record of the text.
The assumption is that God doesn’t exist so miracles can’t happened. Natural laws can’t be contradicted at least on earth unless there was some other force to suspend or overcome it.
What seems impossible then is within the realm of possibility today. The notion that God created Eve from the Adam’s rib is laughable. However with today’s technology, it may be within our lifespan that geneticists may be able created a man or woman from the DNA/RNA or regenerated or grow an organ with stem cells. Man is on the verge of incredible discover that if God did it, it may be that man can do it too.
If one is looking for reasons to disprove or reject the Bible, one doesn’t have to look to far. Most atheists already have their reasons and agnostics have their reservations about the Bible.
If one is looking for reasons to consider the validity of the Bible, one will have to look harder and will have much more to consider. Each person is on their own journey of what they believe about the Bible.
SUMMARY: The reason to believe or not believe the Bible is not on other people’s reasons but one’s own reasons. It’s one’s own due diligence on the important claim of the Bible of offering eternal life to anyone who believes.
