Thank you for the question about Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden, “Is there still a turning sword at the Garden of Eden according to the Bible?”
Genesis 3 records this narrative after Adam and Eve sinned by eating the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. “23 So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. 24 After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side[e] of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life” (NIV).
The Scriptures are silent as to what happened after Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden of Eden. To prevent Adam and Eve or their descendants to eat from the Tree of Life, an angel was to guard it.
There is no indication how long the Tree of Life produced fruit, but it would seem likely that by the time of the Flood, the tree may have died or destroyed by the Flood itself. Thus, there were no longer a need for an angel to guard the Tree of Life since it was no longer producing that fruit.
