Old Testament

Thank you for your question.

For one’s consideration, there are some Biblical implications on the state of Enoch and Elijah:

A. Prior to the resurrection of Jesus, Jesus stated that flesh and blood can’t inherit the kingdom of God. Thus the physical body could not be in the presence of God.

B. Prior to the resurrection of Jesus, the presence of sin separated God and man. The sins of Enoch and Elijah prevented them from being in the presence of God. The sins were covered but not removed since Christ has not come in atoning for sin.

C. Prior to the resurrection of Jesus, deceased Old Testament saints went to “Abraham’s Bosom. The deceased saints waited for the resurrection to come whereby they will inherit what was promised to them by God.

For the above reasons, I have reservations about Enoch and Elijah’s body were physical in the presence of God. We’re they transformed into a spiritual body? The Scriptures is silent on their state. It may we’ll be and some Christians believe that they are the Two Witnesses during the Tribulational Period who will return and be killed by the Antichrist.
