New Testament

Thank you for the application question, “What are your thoughts on the Bible verse Hebrews 13:6 NIV?”

As one reads the broader context of Hebrews 13:6, the mediations on the passage becomes dearer to the follows of Jesus.

Hebrews 13 in the larger context says this, “13 Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. 2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. 3 Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.

4 Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. 5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” 6 So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” 7 Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (A searchable online Bible in over 150 versions and 50 languages).

Here are some meditative thoughts on Hebrews 13:6:

A. Because the Lord is with his followers, they treasure believers over possessions.

B. Because the Lord is with his followers, they remain faithful to one’s spouse.

C. Because the Lord is with his followers, they maintain their purity before others.

D. Because the Lord is with his followers, they pray for believers who are in need or in suffering.

E. Because the Lord is with his followers, they imitate the faith of the forerunners.

F. Because the Lord is with his followers, they trust their whole lives to God.

Hebrews 13 has much more deeper truths for one to meditate on. God is faithful to his followers in life and in death.

SUMMARY The believer’s faith is founded on the person and work of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God.
