Thank you for the question, “Is there any American who finds Trump’s pose with a Bible sincere?”
As an American and as a Christian, one can’t judge the sincerity or motivation of a person. God will reveal President Trump motives in all of his decisions and actions just as God will reveal each person’s motive in his/her decisions and actions.
None of us are always pure in our motives as we visit someone’s home, join a club, or give to a charity. When we give to charity, are our motives sincere in helping others or is it for a tax deduction?
Scriptures declares that with the standard one judges another person, that standard will be used on that person. James 2 says this, “12 Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, 13 because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment” (A searchable online Bible in over 150 versions and 50 languages).
Was President Trump sincere in his pose with the Bible? I would like to think that he was sincere in his pose with the Bible. Does he read the Bible or have daily devotions? I don’t know but he does have godly Christian advisers. From what I have read, President Trump has done more for religious freedom than most presidents.
Even if he was insincere and his motive is skewed, God even uses the wicked to accomplish his will as the Assyrians and Babylonians. Can God use President Trump? Yes, and he can use you and me to do his will on earth as it is in heaven despite even at times our insincerities.
SUMMARY: God will reveal the heart of President Trump and our hearts one day before himself and others.
